Privacy Policy

Effective February 21, 2026

What Are We Watching is a personal TV show tracking app. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Data We Collect

The app does not require an account and does not collect personal information.

All show tracking data — your shows, episodes watched, watch groups, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you enable iCloud sync.

iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled, the app may sync your show data across your Apple devices. This data is managed by Apple and subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

TMDB API

The app uses The Movie Database (TMDB) API to search for shows and retrieve episode information, posters, ratings, and streaming availability. When you search for a show, your search query is sent to TMDB’s servers. No personally identifying information is included in these requests.

TMDB’s privacy policy is available at themoviedb.org/privacy-policy.

Analytics & Tracking

The app does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks.

Children’s Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
